ABOUT HARMONY

A Montessori School With Clear Standards
Harmony Montessori Educational Institution is an indoor–outdoor learning community built to help students grow into capable, grounded learners. We prioritize curiosity, creativity, collaboration, and compassion, paired with clear expectations for independence, responsibility, and real academic progress. Our practice is Montessori-grounded and informed by AMS-aligned standards and training.
Adolescence Done Properly: Freedom Within Limits
Montessori for adolescents is designed for this stage of development: students need autonomy, belonging, and meaningful work. However, they also need clear structure and accountability. Our guiding idea is “freedom within limits through mutual respect”: Students have choice, boundaries are explicit, and follow-through matters.
Learning is active and practical thus students plan, build, test, revise, and reflect. This helps them develop self-management, communication, and problem-solving skills that transfer to any later academic system.
S1 Middle School: International Path (Learning Through English)
S1 is our middle school program with a strong International Path for students ready to learn through English across core subjects. Students engage in an interdisciplinary curriculum that emphasizes critical thinking, creativity, and global awareness, guided by educators trained in Montessori methodology and experience in their fields.
The goal is direct: strong English for learning, strong subject knowledge, and strong habits. This is key so that students can transition confidently into respected local or international high school pathways.
Skills First, Whole-Child Always
We are deliberately skills-based, not rote-first. We teach students to “do everything for a reason,” building the learning habits that make memorization and high-volume study easier later when it’s genuinely required.
Whole-child education is part of the design: outdoor learning and field-based exploration support wellbeing, curiosity, and stewardship. Thereby, students understand their world, their place in it and learn to care for it through action.

Our vision is a vibrant, inclusive Montessori community where students grow through curiosity, creativity, collaboration, and compassion.

Our Philosophy
At Harmony, students don’t learn for tests—they learn to think, build, and communicate. We combine Montessori-informed independence with clear teaching, strong routines, and high expectations. Every day, students practice the skills that matter: reading deeply, writing clearly, speaking with confidence, solving problems, and working well with others.
We also believe learning must connect to the real world. Our classrooms are designed for hands-on work, and our campus environment supports outdoor lessons, observation, projects, and purposeful activity—so students don’t just “study” knowledge, they use it.

Our History
Harmony began in 2012 with a small group of families who wanted something better: a school where children are known, supported, and challenged—and where learning is built on respect and real capability.
From one small class, Harmony has grown into a full learning community serving students from Grade 1 to Grade 9, with both International (English-medium) and Bilingual (Chinese-medium + ESL) pathways. As we grow, our mission stays the same: build strong learners with strong character—ready for high school, and ready for the world.
