A Prepared Environment for Growing Independence

Harmony is a Montessori learning community where students build independence, responsibility, and confidence, step by step, with guidance. Our classrooms are structured, calm, and purposeful. Students learn to plan their work, manage time, collaborate respectfully, and communicate clearly. We value strong habits and solid routines, not to restrict children, but to give them the freedom to thrive.

Two Learning Paths in One Department

S1 runs with two pathways, so families can choose what best fits a student’s needs and future direction:

International Path (English-medium):
Core subjects are taught through English, supported by explicit language development for academic reading, writing, and speaking.

Bilingual Path (Chinese-medium + ESL):
Students learn primarily through Chinese instruction while steadily building English proficiency through scaffolded ESL and language-rich practice.

Both pathways share the same foundation: a prepared environment, clear expectations, and learning built on mutual respect.

A Thoughtful Admissions Process

Because Montessori learning is community-based, admissions is about fit and readiness, not just placement. We begin by getting to know the student and family, and we may request recent learning information (such as school records) to understand the student’s current stage. For students entering English-medium learning, we also check language readiness to ensure they can participate with confidence.

In many cases, we invite the student to spend a short period learning alongside the class. This helps the student experience the environment, and it helps our guides observe how best to support the learner. Our goal is simple: place each student where they will succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
